in reality it will look far from stock. However engine color doesn't really matter, I tried to stay away from bright or gawdy.

For some reason I haven't kept up on this post, but boy has a lot been accomplished since I read last. Good work Boosty, I must say you have a lot of energy, and sorry to hear about your piston problem............engine piston that is. I can't wait to see the end result at NEBF. Keep up the great work, you inspire me.

So Bill, about this..
Did you wrap the flex tube or is that a GM product?
I was thinking you are insulating that and the first half will help to keep temps down if... your going to keep it hooked up. (Idon't know if your required to use that EGR in your area) The point being you have a few options.
1. block off the hole in the exhaust manifold and route the tube into your airbox, this will allow you to suck cool air from your air box and keep clean cool air in your intake and the bonus is you won't set any codes while using a fully functional EGR system.
2. Set the EGR enable temp to 250*F in the PCM, this will keep that bugger shut and basically the same results are yours.
3. Remove it completely and turn off the codes, That'* what I did.
Every time I DEQ my car I install the EGR bracket and valve for show & tell but the flipping thing doesn't even have tubes going to or from anything..
Anyway... Nice work Mr. Looks great, you rock..
Oh yeah, one more thing, how is it your hands are so clean?

Thomas...
I was wondering if you were lurking around this topic. Glad to see you are, I had thoughts about closing off the EGR. It is required here and I'll be keeping it for looks at the least. Those tubes are wrapped with tape while I painted the crusty bracket.
If I block it off..it'll be invisible to people.
As for the rest..I expect there will be a piston on my front step when I get home tonight. Headgaskets at Advance and rings with Mechanic Dan. Question is..can I get Dan to come over with his ring compressor and help put in the pistons tonight?
