While the motor is out.. I've cleaned the engine bay, especially all the crud that was built up on it.

Found a crack in the EGR tube for the exhaust manifold. Far as I can see it'* integral, I picked up another one. But it was ugly

I slipped and some spilled on my engine block

I fixed up the loom down by the AC compressor since it was horrible as well.

When it goes back together it'* going to be clean, and respectable looking.

Hey, if you got forced to rip it all apart, at least you can make it look PERFECT on the rebuild. Looking great so far. Think of it as a little blessing in disguise!

MY EYES!!!!!! MY EYES!!!!!.....I'm blinded! The glare is amazing.

That just ain't right...no fair :? . Motor and heads are gleaming and purdy. Really nice to see you going the extra mile while access is easy and extra stuff isn't attached.

Very nice job.

I still think it should have been painted Barney purple!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Overall...painting was easy. I had already cleaned/degreased the motor when it came out, cleaned all the gasket surfaces. It was really a tape/masking it off. A quick sanding to ensure all loose paint was off and repaint a couple good coats.

My oil pan will stay brushed aluminum as will the timing cover.

Yeah, Bill still thinks he can fool people into mistaking his car for stock, but I think the constantly smoking tires will give it away...

Looking good, Bill!
