Boost's Performance Attempt
Well, god luck with this one, looks like you'll have a fresher motor then you originally sought out to do!
If you blow that up, you probably shouldn't show up around here for a while
Wren may have gotten his on the road first, but you still have more pages on your thread!
and more dead motors...
Godspeed !

The way the last motor went..it was bad from the junkyard. Anyone that works as a mechanic or with one..knows from time to time..you get a bad one and it sucks.
My approach has been to keep the wrenches turning until things are good. Keeps me from thinking about how much a bad motor sucks ... think about the amount of work for 10 f'n miles. .... repeat after me..10 miles.
Can one of you 00+ owners take a picture of the lower intake manifold bolts for me. Oddly enough..the 97 bolts and others I've done were rounded at the top of the head..these are very crisp and precise....

Funny you say that, one night Wren calls and during the convo..he mentions I need to get moving since he "passed" me with his thread. I laughed it off and mentioned his needed a rename since winter was over and it'* taken him since November.
Since..I ended up thrashing two motors... makes for a lot of posts doesn't it? One might think I slaughtered them to get ahead...lol (No way is it worth that).
Tonight I'll be getting some pics inside the oil pan from the last disaster. Randman and I were impressed by the large chunks of metal. That one was coming apart at the seams. Pete and I went from not hearing it..to having a check engine light in about 5 miles.
