The situation:

Swapped the cam, lifters, timing chain/gears, timing cover, oil pressure kit and oil pan. Let it run for ~15-20 minutes and changed the oil. A couple times..it didn't fire right up. (after thought says this may have been a bad bearing sign). Changed the oil and filter...looked good. Changed the oil and drove 5 in town miles after it was up to temp. Had lunch and got on the highway to go to Walmart ~5 miles away. Oil pressure had been 60psi at idle, once in gear..stayed around 60psi. Highway was somewhere around 70ish. Get off highway and oil pressure drops to 20 quickly.

If I gave it a little gas.. it would come back up in pressure. Although as the bearings wore more on the way home..pressure was starting to drop off.

Bill

I will keep your car in my prayers :P
Maybe you should try to switch the oil pump before she spins one.

You may not have to interact much with the next go round. After all, the tools probably have it down pat by now.

Serious note, sure sorry to hear this, but this too shall pass. At least you arent thrashing on it to get to work in the AM. It could be worse

Thing with oil pressure is... It would come right back the minute I gave it any throttle. And the oil pressure was GREAT on the highway. Imagine the Intense oil pressure kit with 75-80psi. I only wrote what I saw earlier.. although Pete was watching it closer and has mentioned it since then.

Thats a bummer :?
SO it fired right up with no bad noise, lifters settled out, everything fine.
Now low pressure, is there any wierd sounds, just low pressure?
See any metal in the filter?

Are you going to realign the dilithium crystals or replace the warp core again?

(realign dilithium crystals= getting the crank redone and new bearings?)

The junkyard is going to guarentee the engine right?

Could it be a low rpm voltage induced error caused by a faulty sensor or gauge :?:

That'* the problem with junkyard engines. You never know what you gonna get. :(
