Pulled the starter, way easy with the sub frame out of the way. And was well worth the effort, opened it up real nice to undo the torque converter from the flex plate.

Removed the two bolts from the right rear trans mount, and the two bolts from the engine to trans mount. Had to remove the power steering pump to get at it.

Removed the bolts from this mount, left rear. To answer Bill, the bottom two were not to bad, had to use a pry bar to open it up just enough to get a socket on the bottom two, once broke loose a ratcheting wrench worked great. However, that top bolt was another story and was the recipient of many harsh words. I finally broke it loose and removed it. I left one in place and will be the last bolt removed.

However, there is always a evil bolt. And here it is. The only bolt I have not removed yet. Look close, it'* under the EGR block off, you can just catch the edge of it.

I figure there'* a trick to it, so I'm waiting for Bill. That'* better then fighting it.

Well, my car is now missing one transmission. I didn't want to remove the cross over pipe, but it was the only way to get that last bolt.

Once that bolt was out, it was just a mater of lowering it, and that wasn't easy. It slid off the jack the last few inches and fell on a oil pad.

Can't wait to see the transmission autopsy Dan. You've done some great work here and the pictures and write up is awesome.

I'm kind of antsy about what I find. I'm hopping it'* just a shredded 4th gear input shaft. I did notice something. I mounted the transmission and left the torque converter in. I can't get it out when mounted. So I'll be dropping it and then remounting it.

Oh crap...I just re-looked at the picture of the mounted tranny. You're right! Your not going to get that torque converter out without a plasma cutter! Bummer dude...

You got the number...but you never call with questions...lol

Which bolt was last the one o'clock one? I usually go right under the SLP'* and it comes out w/o an issue. If it was the backwards one..then you use a deep 18mm and about 3 feet of extensions. I have a 24" and 30" that I pair up for the task.

Backwards bolt.

I don't have a pic of 1 o'clock. It'* too easy and never makes me remove anything on my car or with stock exhaust. If that one gave you a hassle, then that'* a TOG feature only.

It was the TOG clamps. Once I pulled the crossover the bolt was right there nice and easy. I had to remove it non the less. Needed to remove the dipstick and the TOG clamp blocks the bolt for that as well.

I was wondering what he was talking about. Backwards trans bolt, easy, 3 feet of extensions!

Dan, that trans only weighs 200 lbs, even I can lift it off a 4 foot bench, set it on the ground, pick it back up and put it on the table. Big muscle guy like you should be able to hang it off your... well... you know. lol

No problems moving it. Now when I pulled one out of my trunk, that was a work out.
