Not really, no. I went threw the manual many times, and I don't remember reading anything like that.

Next time use transgoo to hold the thrust bearing in place. That'* one of the main things it'* used for.

It'* interesting and I'm trying to remember the clutches on the input/3rd carrier with sprag. I didn't use the 4th clutch hub trick. Pretty sure I put the trans horizontal like it would sit in the car for that install. Also..the clutches didn't fight much. Gotta bet the cold didn't help much.

I have a small tube of lube I'm finishing off. A little dab and it stays in place. The biggest problem was the 3rd gear clutches. They would bind on the band and then move. After a few attempts it got easier, just had to figure out where ot put my hand.

When you do the next one.. please take a pic of the check balls all glued in place. I keep meaning to get one of that point. It'* cool to me how we install the VB with balls facing down and yet..we don't worry about them falling out.

I have 2 spare valve bodies. When I get this done and caught up with other cars I'll set one up just to get a picture.

Looks like I'm nearing the end of this wild ride. I hope

Transmission is done and as far as I can tell, everything is correct. About to pull it from the stand.

Setting it done by the car.

What a pain getting the jack under the transmission when it'* under the car. I hd to rock it back and forth putting 2x4s under until it was high enough to roll the jack under.

Slipped in the new 3000 stall torque converter.

Slowly jacked it up until it was in place.

After some fighting I found adding a second jack helped a lot.

Bolted the torque converter to the flex plate.

That'* all I got in a bit under 3 hours. Time to warm up the toes. I'll be heading back out in a bit. My list is getting shorter. Sub frame, cross over pipe, starter, axles, brakes, plug things back in, and hook up air filter, update the bin file in the PCM, fill the transmission back up with fluid, put tires back on, lower to ground, start, drive. I hope.
