I have 3 transmissions. Getting a picture wont be a problem. Once I get my car back on the road I'm rebuilding one of them and selling it. The last one is going to be built as a race transmission and held as a spare.

I like having the spare parts. I have a drawer with sensors. I have at least one of every type, some of the 3 or 4.

Looks like I have the transmission all back together.

I started by removing all the parts to clean them up and verify everything is back together right.

After torquing everything and closing it up, I found I was unable to turn the input shaft by hand, even though I could before closing it. So I opened it back up and found this thrust washer had moved out of place.

I put in a new thrust washer and started torquing the valve body. Again I was unable to turn the input shaft by hand. So after talking to SPG358 is sugested checking the bearing under the 4th gear piston assembly.

You can see the bearing i not sitting flush.

After some persuasion, it'* now flush.

Because I had to open up the transmission so many times, I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted. But I did get the flex plate changed.

I had to change it because the new torque converter has a different bolt pattern.

Those plastic thrust bearings, I hate them. Twice now I have found them in the bottom of my oil pan in pieces.

I didn't see you mention it, but I gotta ask, you did realign the flux reverse band prior to installing the 4th clutch using a Roundtoit right?

I now hate them as well. If you bump it and they turn then it'* smashed. So I made sure I watched them close.

What the heck are you talking about?
