Well the core is leaking at the solder where one of the tubes meets the tank. POS!

I called Advance and they swapped it out for me... for an ALUMINUM CORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll need to open up the hole a little in the plates. It hits a little in the corners.

This is amazing work, Jeff. Keep it up.

And to give you kudos on something secondary to the project, I like what you did with the exhaust. I had a vision of having mine fabbed up in a similar manner (following the "channel" under the car but exiting straight out the back instead of the 90* turn into the transverse muffler), and it'* great to see you accomplishing it in real life. If I lived near you I would bring my car to your place of business for a little modification

The i/c and */c are back on, waiting for the silcone to set a little before I crank it.

The aluminum core fit real good except it was alittle thicker. I milled out some wood, then the tubes didn't set tight against one side, so I milled a little more. Then the core was loose in the sandwick, so I took the aluminum side plates and straightened them upward a little to take up the slack.....

So its all back in, silly-*** squished out all the mating surfaces real nice. The Aluminum core has stepped tubes, they are 3/4 at the base and 5.8 on the end. I can use real heater hose now since the wood plates actually seal right against the 3/4 tubes (w/ silicone to make sure) The tight angle around the alt bracket, now I can use 90* heater hose there, actualy on both tubes, so the hoses will run behinds the belts and around the coil bracket instead of straight out next to the */c belt like they were. I was worried about them getting into the belt and cutting....

AH!!!! Gotta crank it again before I leave and chekc for leaks.....

I run * AGAIN!!!!!!!!

This time I put my thumbs over both i/c tubes and NO VACUUM!!!!

I ran out of time to do much else today.

Everyone have a good Thanksgiving!

I'll be back on Friday for a couple hours to finish the transmission harness, turbo charge-air pipe, and turbo coolant lines!

This might be a stupid question but I'm curious why you haven't added a cat? It may have said somewhere else in your thread but all the pictures in that overloaded my crappy 56K dialup conneciton......

Cats aren't exactly "performance parts" . I know that some cats flow really well, but it isn't helping performance if you're going extreme. I think Jeff just made the decision not to include one.

How did you balance the front and rear exhaust into the Turbo to ensure it'* equal :?:

That intercooler setup is pretty slick. Nice design.

It'* so good to know that this runs. I'm thoroughly excited to see this, and I hope you don't just stop here. Please fine-tune that engine far too much! Also, when is the dyno test?

The dyno only tells one story.
Real world driveability tells the other.
