Oh, hell ya it does! I thought it was 2nd originally, but when it started shifting, I was able to figure it out by rpm and speed what the sequence was.

When I reversed the shift solenoid wires in the plug, it was 4th, 2nd, 1st, 3rd.

I just put them back and now it'* 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st! If I leave the shifter in 2, it holds 3rd gear with no shift.

I am driving home with the plug disconnected unless it holds 1st or 2nd, then I'll plug it back in and run it in like it is in 2 range. I am worried about exhausting 3rd fluid in 2 range, but it seems to hold well. The EPC values are good.

I have verification, it IS the shift solenoids!!!!!

The -65 solenoid pattern:

1 - on/on
2 - off/on
3 - off/off
4 - on/off

The -80 shift pattern:

1 - on/off
2 - off/off
3 - off/on
4 - on/on

Tell me, why thehell would GM do that?!?!?!?!?!?

So I will be using the tcm i have for a 4L80E diesel truck. It'* an older OBD-I contraption. I have the tuner for it, so I can dial it in with my laptop.

Now off to build a harness!

The engine runs great! the turbo spools up like nobody'* business! I get 5-6psi turbo before WOT as low as 3000rpm!

I believe you like to keep us in suspense like a good movie. Any kind of media, pictures, videos, sounds would be good... these descriptive words like turbo spooling up are driving me crazy

A thread where members aspire to an automatic...

I'll give it to you though the 4T80 seems best for this and you've got my respect for your efforts

Someone give me a video of a 3.0 Whipple! Holy freaking everything! That'* incredible. Is this common? I figured the 4" on the 140cfm superchargers was enough, but this is nuts!

I bet on pontiacjeff because he posted pictures here.

I have been driving the bonne for 4 days with awesome results! Trans shift sequence was an issue, so I rewired it to run off a 93 diesel truck tcm. That'* going to work fine, but I screwed up the memcal trying to get the chip out. Right now I have the B solenoid grounded and the A solenoid wired thru a GTP shift **** mounted Perf Shift switch to ground. So with the shifter in D4 I can start out in 3rd and hit the Perf HSift button to shift into 4th.

And yes, the car has plenty of tq to start in 3rd. I actually drove in 4th for two days with no problems! LOL! it was a little sluggish on hill starts, though...

As for the engine and turbo, all I can say is everything is working flawlessly. I have re-torqued the */c a couple times, each time reqs less tightening. I think the wood is just about settled for good. I'll plumb the intercoolers soon, maybe this weekend. I put a BOV in the chargeair pipe today. I'll take some real nice pics of the engine and car tomorrow and post them. The car looks awesome with the Turbo GP 8" Crosslace wheels and 245/50'*.

It'* sunny and 75 here in Atl all this week! So perfect cruisin weather!
