if you want to clean the carbon(if you have any),
try some water in the intake it will clean the piston tops,
valves and the combustion chamber spotless.

Disconnect the exhaust at the downpipe first. Water will break the carbon free, but will not 'break it down'.

GM top engine cleaner or seafoam will soften the carbon deposits as it removes them, so they can be combusted away at the cat grid.

Yea Wren and myself have been talking about me running some top end cleaner in it. I have it here, i just need to find the time to pull the exhaust and what not (dont want to plug the cat), i am also going to pull the o2 because i dont want to ruin it. BUt yea i am going to do that. And i am thinking about having another LIM done since i took that upper off and noticed that it was indeed overported (don expect a pm soon lol). It isnt much but there is a lip of the heads you can see on all the ports, so i imagine that is messing up flow.

I firmly believe the stock A/F tables do not have enough adjustability to compensate for the added air flow of your new cam, especially after seeing how my fuel trims were pegged after doing a cam swap. You guys are on the right track with fuel maps. Get a chip burned to get you in the ballpark, then see how you like it. Though your FP is old, it might still be fine. Don't throw any more money at that car until you have new fuel tables in the PCM.

Does the OBD 1 and 1-1/2 use an open/closed loop system like OBD 2? If so, it may be the reason you feel better power when the engine is cold. The open loop fuel maps are almost certainly more rich than the closed loop fuel tables, so it may be giving you the extra bit of fuel the car really needs in the upper RPM range.

well i don't see why yours would be overported because i did it the same as mine .and mine is ok on all the port except one on one side only i have pict to prove it . i would seafoam it did not do anything wrong to mine its all good my KR is very low now below 2 degrees . we are in very warm and humid weather since the last month ( yesterday was 98% ) and all at the track where far from there PB so i say a good part of youre KR is the weather if you say you see almost no KR when its cold

Ben, i have to agree with that. It is when it is in open loop, once it goes to closed loop it has its problem, i checked today

I am kinda slightly confused about this lol. But if Bill is writing it and it is to me more then likely it is some werid kinda of subliminal messaging into getting me into a L67. HAHA
