Great job, guys! See if you can get that KR sorted out. You're probably running pretty lean and seeing some knock because of it. What are you using to fix the fueling at this time?

Yea, i am going to continue to work on the knock issue. We did plug wires today, didnt decrease knock, but definently gave the power a smother feeling. Tomorrow i am doing another oil change and going to swap the exhaust off the other bonneville (to check the cat).
I did a quick scan today and will post it along with some pics once i upload everything.
Lets just say the car moves *** nicely. Even though i am seeing between 5-9 degrees of knock (15 degrees at most on some blipes but not so much anymore). And with that knock i am only seeing 3-7 degrees of timing, so that is being very restrictive.
But i do know even with a horribly tuned setup, Grand Prix Gt'* are not a match and apparently dont like "skipping" bonnevilles.

So how are you going to fix your lean condition? There'* not enough adjustability in the PCM to account for the extra flow of a cam. Your LTFTs are probably pegged lean, or close to it. That'* how my car was after we did the cam. You need to be careful if you're running around with a lean mixture... that'* how a lot of the GP guys pop pistons. I would say at the very least you need some kind of adustable FPR or AFC to get you by until you can get a custom chip burned.
I'm glad you guys got it going though! I bet you'll really love the power once you get everything sorted out. That car should really scream

Ok, thank you and that makes sense. I just uploaded my scan and will be putting it up soon. As for the chip... That is my next goal. I got my scan and may need 1 more for ryan at gmtuners, then i can begin on a custom chip.
Yea, it should be nice once everything is fixed.
PS (side note for Wren). Pulled the old plugs out of the motor and checked them, all looked great. So that powerlog wasnt causing the fronts to be lean, i will also try to get some pics of those.

Andrew... you should have reminded him more than once about the camera.
TJ, Mrs. TJ and Elmo ( ).......it was a pleasure to come and help.. Don..aka Firebuick.. wish you could have made it.
Overall..we had fun. Got a little greasy (glad TJ cleaned the engine and engine bay..they were really bad before he cleaned them.)
All in all things went smoothly until I pulled the first valve seal. Without power or air tools..TJ was in charge of putting string in the cylinders to hold the valves up. Well...24 inches of string apparently wasn't enough..... "TINK" was the sound that was heard
<~~~ TJ started crying after he said "Is that what I think it was"
<~~~ What I wanted to do to TJ for not having enough string in the cylinder
After a few minutes with a magnet I brought and a piece of ziptie.. the valve was back in place and all was good.
<~~~ TJ after I worked that bit of magic. (Personally..I think it was a miracle)
I asked when I picked up the upper and TB already tightened together "Is this ready to go on?" Got confirmation from TJ and put it on. A little bit later when TJ asked why water/coolant was leaking out the TB... I asked him if he used a gasket.
<~~ He actually did this.
After we squared that away...we uh found a surprise.. Hey Don.. we could have fixed that when the motor was out .... I improvised though. Removed all the plugs to clear the water/ coolant out of the cylinders. And then we got it running.
TJ.. do you think the coolant/water sitting in your lower intake might be causing the KR?
All in all..a good weekend away from the Villa.
Chad.. come here for the swap..we won't be doing that up there.

That was the weekend right there in a nut shell. Plus some blower wind and a little lope, lope
I am going to also pull the upper and check that tomorrow Bill, you never know.
I am going to pick one thing at a time and continue to do them until i find the problem, so any ideas that poeple have trust throw them out.

Seems like I can name a few easily
Fuel quality
Water in lower
The Chad effect
Corrosion of the battery cables causing poor spark
Not enough PCM learning time.
You said it'* getting better right?
