So far i love it and i am getting lots of knock and no timing, so i cant wait to see the rest of the power. I think the combo i did was a very very good start for a hardcore NA guy. I cant wait to hear the Ravin Exhaust with that lope

This is exactly what I was thinking when I did mine. I just remember having almost no experience, working on my car alone for around 30 hours straight, and being terrified to turn the key.. It started right up and felt amazing to drive. I didn't even know if I had knock since I didn't own a scan too yet. haha.

I was scared to turn the key, i think Bill said something like "what the hells your problem, i said crank it"

I think we had at most about 10 hours in it (but that was with the motor removed).

Oh and i know without a shadow of a doubt when the knock hits (i was telling bill when i had knock and he had the scan tool and i was telling him about how much it felt like lol)

Yeah, the KR pulling timing is noticable. However there are a few items we identified as possible problem areas.

With TJ guiding the motor.. it slid right in like it could only go one place. Overall the few issues we encountered cleared up quick and smoothly.

TJ.. any idea how soon you can test the fuel pressure? That might be a factor as well.

Yea it went in very smooth. I would have to say, we didnt really run into any problems, just a few hiccups but nothing we couldnt get. I think we made a pretty good team. I actually cant wait to be able to do another. Either my L67 swap or the brothers lol. I just want to do some more engine work

Going to try today to get the fuel pressure checked.

Yea the KR pulling timing is pretty noticable, just like gettting punched in the stomach

What in the HELL did you do that that LIM? I have never seen one that filthy!!!

As for the knock.... any possible loose parts, wires banging into sensors, fake knock basically... I dont know, just kicking out common thoughts.

That intake was a thing of beauty. Both upper and lower were coated with green coolant sludge that could only have come from a very slow leak that mostly congealed before settling w/o filling the lower as it would in most cases.

The gaskets also looked like they had collapsed in the normal heating sense that we see and TJ used his 180 stat from his other motor. Dex doesn't appear to be the devil we have been thinking in the collapsing of the gaskets. Both of TJ'* cars have been green since birth. Looks like heat is more of a factor than coolant choice.
