For the record, I have never said BonneMeMN'* time of 15.99 is false. I was there in person to see the run. Ryan and I were giving Jason our .02 to help him into the 15'*. We knew 15'* were possible because Ryan ran a 16.11 with a complete stock car.
As for my claim that BonneMeMN'* car is not faster then a stock SSEi ("wild claim that does not make sense with no proof"). I ask, where is the proof that Jason car is faster then a stock SSEi? I think that is a wilder claim that makes less sense then mine!
I don't know why I have to defend my claim when I feel that my claim seems to be in majority on Bonneville Club. But I will:
- Ryan'* car use to be "similarly modded" to BonneMeMN'* car.
- Ryan has repaired and replaced M62'* on many SSEi'* and Regals. knowing that, I'm confident that between Ryan and I, we have drove some of the worst and the Best running Series 1 L67'*.
- Ryan and I have owned over 4 different series 1 L27 powered cars in our lifetime (ranging from one that has only seen one winter and has 65,xxx miles on it and one that is about to hit 260,000 miles and has never been torn apart.)
- Ryan and I have both drove stock SSEi'*, even with me taking one for a "test drive" and running it against Ryan'* Bonneville (light after light, wow that night was fun!). With Ryan'* car at the time being "similarly modded", I easily beat him! Now even with Ryan having more mods he still does not feel safe making a statement like, "I'm confident I could take an stock SSEi".
As for the fastest L27?
I can think of two off of the top of my head that are faster.
1. JLAudioEclipse - 15.7x (can't remember the x)
2. IIBlazin IILo - 15.97* (If I remember correctly Jason'* was a 15.99)
* This run was with a '94 pontiac Trans Sport SE with a 3800 Series 1 L27.
As for proof I am going to pm Ryan right now and get him to create a new post in Performance and Brainstorming showing his time-slip. I can't find my slip but I think that Ryan has it so I'll have him post that too!
Even with Ryan running a 15.7x he still does not feel safe making a statement like, "I'm confident I could take an stock SSEi". So with that being said, I feel that Ryan car is not faster then a stock SSEi. But could he beat one? I'm sure he could with the right circumstances! With this I feel that I have given enough proof to my wild claim that don't make sense.
BUT like I guess Rouge said: “The only way to really settle this will be to have Jason run against a stock SSEi and until that happens we can speculate and tabulate and assume whatever we want and Jason can do the same.”

Post a direct link to that thread...I can't seem to find it, but I'm also impatient. There'* too much stuff to learn, and not enough time to do it all.
So, here'* what I think. SSEi should obviously be faster than a stock 3800 of the same year. My friends camaro ('94 3800) doesn't have near the kick of my SSEi. I'd say that on average, I can FEEL about 25% more power. That'* [obviously] a conservative number because I don't want to blow things outta proportion due to my bias towards my bonnie

Alright, I have had enough of this geeze you people are crazy. I also wondered about this as well. Thing is, I just went out and proved it one night. Friend of mine owns a farm and they paid to have their road paved and own the road as well. It is about 2 miles long and it is kind of like our town track the dad lets us have small events there. Very cool.!!!
Anyhow, I at one time had a 1992 SSE and my 1993 SSEi(back when it was stock). The sse had nothing but one power seat, and HUD for options. Anyhow, the SSE did have aftermarket wheels, 3 of them that is, one regular wheel. Okay so we raced them. On our closed track we made! I couldn't believe it. The SSE never pulled away, but never got any farther back either. Granted, I let my friend drive my SSEi, and he had a terrible launch. Point is, I had a good launch in the SSE, but even at 80, the speed we quit at. We were dead even! Now, I do believe I would have a half of carlength on him, but still I easily believe if the SSE had any sort of mods, maybe the intake and exhaust that it would be dead even. Stock to stock, right now I would kill that thing. But I sold it, so I can't do a test now. Sorry Just thought I'd let you know from my experience.
