So in my case I guess it doesn't matter, lol. I was trying to take it off to put my new harmonic balancer on it from my blown engine.
Well it'* ALIVE, sorta. I did have a coolant leak as I was filling it up prior to starting it, but fixed that. It was the coolant tube that comes out of the block and does a 180 and goes through the bottom of the TB ( what a STUPID design).
Used a ratchet and turned the engine over a few times to get it lubed up, then I unplugged the ECM and cranked it over a few times ( stopping as to not burn out the starter, cause I did enough work on it for now, LOL), waited till I seen oil pressure climbing nicely, then plugged the ECM back in and tried to fire it up, ( as you will see in the video). I now have a small oil leak though. It is the oil filter adapter, I made sure I cleaned it up nicely before re-installing it ( the new engine had a regular adapter, and mine had the tubes that run to the rad).
My friend suggested that I try and re-torque it now. So I will try that tomorrow, along with getting a new gasket, if that fails, I will let the garage do it when they install the new accumulator for the AC.
It took a few minutes but the engine is way quieter than what you hear in the video.
Right click and save target as, I also reduced the quality of the video for downloading purposes.

Well, you got there before I did. I had hoped to get mine going tonight, then turned out I had to work late, now I need to get ready for an out of town trip tomorrow. So, I won't get back to mine until Thursday at the earliest.
Congrats on the progress.

I will wait till it hits the road to update the sig pics, and my red sig text, lol.
I hope to fix that oil leak tomorrow ( damn gasket) and maybe get the hood back on and take it for a test drive or 2 or 3.
Have to take it easy with it though, I don't want to BREAK it in, LOL.

Yes do go easy on it..... It takes a little while for those lifters to pump back up after sitting that long....
For everyone else that ever has to do this type of swap or replacement... Do not... Let me repeat that... DO NOT run the crapp out of it after you get it started... If the lifters have not fully pumped up you could damage the lifter/*... Not a pretty sound either...
Yeah Mike, once the engine runs a while, it'll get good and quiet.... I'll bet that engine will server you well... When you first turned it over it sounded tight( as in good compression , tight rings.....) I think you may have found a one in a million motor....
Keep us posted..
