Going to be looking at all the options today. He wanted to remove the bumper, not sure I like that idea. But cutting the bottom part off may be a good option.

bill i read the disicussion on clubgp about the double rollers snapping and from what i read the problem was the jp double roller chains breaking,, and im hopeing the rollermaster double roller chain is better, zzp didnt have any rollermaster chains break,yet..

It'* not just JP'*. Rollmasters went too. Glad I was able to let you guys know. In reality it'* not my engine and it'* fine whatever you've decided. JP'* were made differently back then and the chains were lesser quality than the Rollmasters.

Janice points out the issue being deflection. Once you are aware of that and measure or look at the chain when it'* installed, the problem is obvious. The chains were not meant to be pulled side to side, only around.

Anyhow.. Car looks great, build looks good and I'm sure you'll enjoy the heck out of that setup.

We both went over the chain close, and it all looked square.

Got the intercooler installed today. Anyone that says it'* easy is lying. It was a major PITA. Took all flipping day.

First, modify the bumper.


That gave us more room and better air flow.


Made brackets and mounted the FMHE




Then started running the piping.


Top of the mount.


Super tight in here, had to do a lot of modifications, you know, cutting.


Going to make up some hangers for this tomorrow.


Yep, had to cut the corner off the sub frame.


Finally, after most of the day, got it all up in to the engine bay.




I must say, I'm pleased. Just need to clean things up a bit.

Intercoolers are easy to install. If your working on a Freightliner.

Well, at least I know where to drop my car off for work like that.

and thanks for the help bill, not much we can do about it now, lets hope it last.. did you run a tensioner on your double roller, not sure if you can?

and why is it when time is tight zzp order hasnt shipped yet, come on usually less than 24 for them to get here..

LOL, its Murphy'* Law Chris. When you need something now, it won't ship for 2 days. But, if need a bunk of lumber, it will show up before the floor is poored.

Oh, when you drop that tank, use silicone lubricant when you put the filler tubes back on. Makes it MUCH easier to remove next time you DO have to remove it again.

mike i wont need to drop the tank, i have the access cover in my trunk.. any other advise,i have a basket in mine, heard they can b a pain

Darn those people with access covers to the sending unit. Grrr.

No sir, I cannot think of anything else. You have a smart mechanic working with you right now. Anything that can/will/might go wrong, I'm sure Dan would have a fix/rig/solution for it.
