I wouldn't be thinking along those lines unless you had higher ratio rockers and/or a cam to be honest. Far too much work for very little gain.

Only from the manifolds. Clamp the manifold flange FIRMLY to a very flat surface that can help control the heat and draw it away from the flange quickly. Stitch-weld them in stages, one stitch, move to another runner, one stitch, move, one stitch move, then back to the first, repeat, repeat, repeat. This helps to prevent warping the flange. After they've been stitch-welded like this on the outsed of the runner to the flange, grind out at least 50% of the OEM weld on the inside of the exhaust manifold runners. Search for my topic titled "hole exhaust manifold cracks, batman". Fix the cracks while you're at it. You have them. Trust me.

To the best of my knowledge, all 92-94 L27 LIM'* are the same casting number and should be identical. Only the S1 L67 matters. There are two different castings for the L67. Non-walled runners are preferred. L36 LIM'* won't work on your L27. Not even close. Port spacing is totally different. As is the runner design.

I already got a TB gasket, but it can be saved for an emergency too i guess...

So lets say I know somebody that has some 3800 heads lying around and they think its from a series I motor...but not totally sure. If I posted some pictures could you tell me which heads they are and if they would work for my application?

I am considering them because if I remember right from what I've read, I most likely have 3/8" rocker bolts and some of the newer L27/S1 L67 heads fit my application and came with 5/16" ones which would be required if I wanted to run rockers without modifying the heads as the rockers only fit the 5/16" or something like that.

Well......to tell you the truth I don't remember from when I looked at them a while back. I'll porobably be able to get pictures up on friday, or at least sent to someone who knows how to post them

if yo uhave the 3/8" rocker bolt then no you dont have rollers, 3/8" ended after '92 when it was changed to 5/16" and the roller rockers didnt come till '94.
however you can swap heads and get the 5/16" roller heads

This is incorrect. 93 L27'* had roller rockers. And the larger bolts. 94/95 L67'* got them one year later.
