That the Walbro pump will reduce the effective size of my fuel tank and always leave me with at least 3/4" from the tank bottom.

That I will not be installing it.

That this pump is not suited to +00 Bonne'*

That the voltage boosting kit will improve the flow by 10%.

That the only way the Walbro pump outperforms the stock unit is by disconnecting the venturi port so it doesn't have to fill the cannister it sits in.

It'* a good read or I wouldn't have posted it.

Damn. I knew there was a few issues with these pumps in the past, however, nothing quite like this.
I cant use that style pump..as far as i know..my tank doesnt have the "bucket".
Look up TRE fuel pumps, Paul. might be something in there for you..I am going to call them and ask what will work for me.

Yes Matt, I think you have a similar tank to Bill'*. You should be able to use this style of pump. Only the newer +00'* with the cannister will not be best suited for this style of pump.......unless you don't mind losing the last 2 gallon reserve in your fuel tank.

Ahhhaa

That looks like it'll do the trick.
Now why would INTENSE sell me the Pump without this important feature :?:

I ordered it for $45. The most expensive brass tee, 4 clamps and 2 inches of hose I ever bought.

Now, so do I leave the fuel pump out for 2 weeks while I wait for the part........ :?

Now that I've done it once, it won't take more than 10 minutes to do it again.
The hardest part......now that the lock ring is loosened.....is emptying the fuel out of the cannister so it can be removed without spilling its contents inside the trunk....5 more minutes.

I just have the open tank hole covered with a piece of loosely fitted plastic but I can smell fuel inside my garage.
I don't think it will be safe to leave it like this for 2 weeks.

Actually, I'm thinking now about not doing it.
I have the hot wire kit installed which by itself will give the OEM pump a few psi more pressure and 10% more flow.
Can always to it later in the spring.
This will allow me to see the difference in pressure between the two pumps..........if any really exists.
I'm almost convinced that the pump change is not needed.......unless the OEM pump is fried. Mine is still functioning fine.

Please let us know about the pressure difference. I'm going to be putting in a new pump soon and I'm trying to weigh out my different options.

I think Holly has a 255lph pump that will drop into our tanks as well.

Does the Holley have provision for the syphon tube?

You can see in the pic that ZZP tees the 1/8" tube into the 1/4" pump discharge. This is supposed to educt fuel from outside the pump cannister into the pump cannister. I'm sure it is somewhat compromised over the OEM system.
If it doesn't educt, it will lose flow back into the tank.

Since I can already increase my fuel pressure above stock with the adjustable pressure regulator and the hot wire kit will increase it also, I should have more than enough fuel.

Maybe I'll resell the Walbro with the kit when I get it........or maybe I'll bring it to WCBF08 to perform the mod there on either mine or possibly even donate it (for some appropriate thirst quenching liquid )
