well, i replaced my axle day before yesterday. ive been feeling so shitty i didnt want to get the computer out. replaced the axle feeling shitty because the axle was cheaper than a tank of gas on the old car..... friggin gas prices. ive had bronchitis since the day after i got the car towed because i watched the driver hook my car up in the pouring rain in nothing but a t-shirt..... that was smart.

anyway, heres some pics of the carnage.

The worst of it was trying to get the wheels clean on The Pk Ave.
They had been neglected for many months..see the results in Detailing section:

Glad that Buick looks clean again.

really havent been doing anything with the cars lately(but i have some kyb shocks setting waiting for a spare couple hours for my firebird), been too busy working/playing with the rhino, working because i have had some axle issues, previous owner injected some issues for me. but finally got it solved and cleaned like 10 miles of trail Saturday and yesterday got like 3 loads of sticks in the front yard before my daughter got bored, i'm glad i got her out of the house at all. got to clean around the pond yet, the willows took a bad hit this winter and there a bunch down. joys of home ownership. and the grass is going to have to be cut pretty soon and i havent even thought of servicing the tractor, ugghh

finally got a proper coat of mud on it

its alot more fun getting it dirty than clean. my daughter never volunteers normally but yesterday she went willingly, it was weird. as long as a 8year olds attention span anyway

Looks like you had some fun in all that mud. Most of my trails are still flooded out to the point where I can't even ride them.

I got a 3500lb winch installed.

yesterday i found out my car does a new trick. whole *** end shakes side to side over 67mph. im guessing bad belts, but im going to tear down the brakes and look at the wheelbearings also on sunday and see what i find. i think if it was related to the swaybars/tierods it would be noticable under 67mph. car rides like butter otherwise.

jason-nothing with the sway bar. probably tires or wheel bearings. wheel bearings are most likely to me, i would jack up the car and try to move the wheel, it shouldnt move at all.

nate- our trails are bad too thats why i got mega mayhems. winch is very important. i got a winch that i put on a harbor freight hitch so i can put it in the front or back when i weld a 2in receiver on the front. did the same on my quad and have quick connects and remote control. when you leave the winch in the front of the machine it the first thing that gets completely full of crud and silt and water. i keep it in the box in the quad and on my rhino there is a compartment under the seat. cant see in the pic but i broke the steel cable i had on the quad the first year and replaced it with amsteel blue one and it has lasted like 9 years of the same abuse

I got a 50 footer. At some down the road I will replace it with 50 foot of synthetic rope. Until then I will just use gloves. It'* a good quality steel cable, and as long as it does not fray I should be fine.

I know what you mean about it getting wet and getting general crud in there. I plan on getting some under body plates for the front to help keep the dirt out, but the winch seems pretty well protected from the factory. It'* behind a lot of plastic already. I don't drive in the water or mud very often.
