Dang man. Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope things turn out for the better for you. Sounds like you are at a good facility, so hopefully they can do great things for you

On a side note, if you take the center console and heat vent out, you gain a good amount of space under the dash there, which you could use to put your foot and drive with your left. I do that in mine now when on trips (I have no carpet or anything though) You could also get a second console and modify it so that it opens that space up, while keeping the console. Just an option.

Hans, how far does this paralysis go :?:
Just the knee or is the hip and pelvic area also affected :?:

You know what I'm talkin bout. :P

Doesn't matter though because it will keep you out of trouble.

I think it would be cool to have hand throttle and braking controls.....just like a video game.

UPDATE

Tomorrow (tuesday) I depart at 5AM to go to Salt Lake City. I will be here:

for at least 24 hours.

If you could not tell that is the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center. I'm going to have a primilary "investation" which will involve a somewhat large cut to fold down the skin to acess the knee and also to see if there are any clear obvous reasons for the extensive nerve damage. Depending on how bad the internal swelling is and how normal everything has healed in the last 10 days Dr. Burks may or may not try to repair anything. If the ligaments are not as bad as he suspects, some stage 1 work will be done to help reduce the constant pain and restore some of the strength. right now my lower leg is merely being held in by skin pretty much, a child could pull on it and rip it out of its place..... this right here is not cool so I hope the doc can do something.

Oh man, Hans, I wish you the best of luck. From what I'm reading, you're a real trooper, man. Good spirits, they make a world of difference (not the alcohol, mind you )

Hans...I'm sorry man...but this Utah dude asked me what your last name was and I gave it to him.

If someone saying he'* from "Nutz" tries to see you..... keep reminding the nurse... Beatiful women and family only!

Oh.. if he offers to change your air mix actuator.. definately say NO!

Good luck once again man!

I was just listening to the song Falling by Staind and one of the lyrics reminded me of what happened to yah

Lyrics:
Falling is easy it'* getting back up that becomes the problem, becomes the problem
And if you believe can find a way out
Then you've solved the problem, you've solved your problem.

Hah...oh well. Hope everything goes good.

Now watch SOMEONE take that wrong... and flame me for it.
