I dont have much to say. I got back from the doctor. Monster cast was removed.
After further research i'm the first person ever to snap my nerve in the fasion I did from a knee dislocation. The doctors I'm working with could not find another similar case documented ANYWHERE. Basically that means i get to be in a medical journal and such it sounds like since It appears this injury is so rare to the point I have it, It either never has happened to anyone before or it was not documented. Not the total loss of ligements but the snaping of the complete stretch then tear of the peroneal nerve....so I am offically the first person (documented) ever to have nerve reconstructive surgery in the manner they performed.
Either way It will be interesting, and I guess if your in the medical field you might read about me next year or something.
Ok you probably want the nasty pics.
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PHOTOS ARE OF A GRAPHIC NATURE, VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This is the new splint and piece that keeps my foot at a 90* angle.

I'm a big dude, 5' 11"/200lbs, look at how swelled the bad leg is compared to my good leg.

Over 60 staples were removed

60 staples.

Surgery Blows IMO.

The bill for the FIRST surgery....the "cheap one"
The second surgery is supposed to be nearly twice that price, on top of a $30,000 initial hospital visit in idaho when I was in critical condtion or whatever, on top of at least 2 more major surgeries I will need to have done in the following months.
If I did not have insurance. I'd be screwed. Even with the insurance it still looks like my out of pocket expenses are enough to buy a beater SSEi....
If I did not have insurance man I'd be screwed right now, that 8% of my paycheck every 2 weeks finally payed off.
Next visit is in 3-4 weeks.
It hurts still.
I just want to chop the leg off and have some steaks.

Leave it to you to find a way to be the first one to do this, Hans. Since you are the first, are there a team of doctor'* all standing around every time you are examined?
Looks like they are taking good care of you and doing what needs to be done. Again, heres hoping for a speedy recovery.

Jeez man, it'* a damn good thing you have insurance. I can't even imagine what it would be like if one had to pay for that.

"Give him some of this...oh crap, that didn't work."
"How about some of these? Nope that just made him wet his pants."
"What if we cut this, stretch that, sew these together..."
Hans, you'll forever be known around the U Med Center as "Mr. Potatohead, the human lab rat."
BTW, did they use duct tape on your leg? That looks like old sun baked duct tape that was removed off your incisions.
