#5 doesn't look too bad but we really need better pics of all six.

We need to figure out if you have a battery drain, an alternator problem or bad battery. Battery sure sounds questionable.

Yeah, the battery is less than a year old, but i think it may be about the weakest recommended for the Bonnie. It'* all I could afford at the time
Not too sure how bad bad is. Anyone got pics of what they should look like? OR, what BAD ones look like?
Supposedly the alternator is only about 2 years old...it looks new and the previous owner said it was new.
Also, the guy who did the put the plugs in after that, which was about 2 months ago. I know they are different cause I had put new ones in last summer.

SO, I put in A BRAND NEW battery, and guess what? .......nothing, that'* what. Did the same exact thing the old one was doing.
What could be draining on a brand new battery that it won't start. Even the battery gauge is only reading around 10 or so.

Sounds like the alternator isn't keeping the battery charged like it'* supposed to. I can't think of anything that would be draining the battery like that if the alternator was good.

Well, I understand that would have killed the batterry after it was charged and then used for a short while, but why wouldn' t it start when I put in a Brand New battery? I certainly make no claims as to my mechaninc abiltiy, but regardless of how the alternator functions (or doesn't), shouldn't a new battery have started the car, and then it would have lost its charge shortly if the alternator wasn't charging it? Can the alternator effect the starting process????
I am so frustrated.....
Is it possible there is iether a bad contact or wire not letting the battery send enough power to the car? Bad ground? No clue, just grasping at straws. I did check the ends where the cables attach to the battery and they looked good, but that is all I checked. I'm going to check it out more when I get home.
Anyways, I really want to thank everyone for thier input so far. I couldn't have gottn through it this far without all of the help and support.

Heres a thought...when I turn the key to on and don't try to start, the battery gauge should read close to 14 right? It'* only reading around 10 or so, and that'* the bran new battery.Don't know what that means but wanted to share as much info as possible.

The new battery should be showing at least 12 volts with the engine off. Either the new battery is bad or you have a bad battery cable/connection. You need to remove the rubber boot on the battery cables & check for corrosion.

Oh, ok. I thought you meant that the new battery "went dead" after a while like the other battery did.

Nope, wouldn't start at all.
Just looked at what I could see, wires look ends look okay. Can't get the rubber off to see the anything else.

Check the battery cables like everyone said. One more thing, when the cables are screwed in (Bonneville'* are side post right?? IIRC) and wiggle them. The wires shouldn't move even if the boots move a bit. My sisters car did the sputter and die thing and then wouldn't start. The negative battery cable wouldn't tighten down on the terminal even though the screw was tight. Used some metal spacers to fix the problem (checked resistance and current and it was fine).

You may still have a bad alt though.
