Didn't wanna start
ok against my advice and all of yours she had her kids do the ICM and car is the same as before, she didnt wanna listen to ya'll about the code being cam sensor she went by what autozone said and a cpl other people she talked to. So now she wasted 100 dollars on the ICM maybe she learned a lesson to listen to the right people, just don't understand why autozone said ICM when 41 is clearly a cam sensor unless they working on commission.
I looked up the procedure for the cam sensor replacement and is it just one bolt for the sensor?

I made a remark about the battery being dissconected for this reason..
After a certain amount of time the ECM will learn the Fuel timming( Thats without the code 41 ) Once it has learned the Fuel timming and the Cam sensor fails, or the Cam magnet jumps out resulting in a code 41, the car will run, not always great but it will run..
And I'll repeat myself, The Cam circuit is used as Cylinder #1 TDC reference for fuel injector timming and true SFI( Sequential Fuel Injection )...
Now my other question for you is, Do you have spark to all 6 cylinders?
There is a good possibility that the Crank sensor could be dead... Generally even with a code 41 the car should run, Might be really crappy but it should run... If the Crank sensor fails, the car won't start or run... Or could have intermintent stalls, or a no start condition once warm...
So what happened to the car? Did it get parked and just not start anymore? If so check for spark..

when car is running it runs awesome but when not running is not running at all, when running can drive to store and wont restart for 1/2 hr, or driving down the road will just shut off, so car never runs like crap just ddoesnt run when happens

This is leading me to believe that the crank sensor may be more of an issue at this point.. I'd rather have an AC Delco Crank sensor, But If you have an Advance auto parts you may be able to get one for an ok Price.. Installing it may be another story..

heres the link on how to check/fix the cam sensor magnet, not sure if its been posted or not
also, on the code 41, i had it tested and both autozone (
) and a trusted mechanic said it could also be the icm, but i guess that has already been established

I just went to a nearby member'* house to fix a similar issue. Autozone had tested their ICM as bad, and sold them a new one.
I replaced a FUSE when I got there, and the car would not fire with the new ICM from AZ. I had him reinstall his OLD ICM which Autozone claimed was bad, and the car starts and runs perfectly again.
Moral of the Story? Autozone is the worst possible place on the planet to go for automotive advice or parts. This isn't an isolated case at all.
Keep in mind the cam sensor signal actually passes through the Crank sensor on the way back to the ICM/PCM.
