Body Control Module
I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP 5.3 that having a number of issues. I'm pretty sure they are all related to the Body Control Module (BCM). The following are the issues I have noticed:
Dealerships in Houston will not touch the BCM because they do not have the computer to program 2006 Pontiacs anymore. Does anyone know how I can get this BCM replaced or refurbished, and programmed reliably?
- parasitic battery drain
- service vehicle soon notification (not service engine)
- Check tire pressure notification with full tires and new, programmed tpms sensors
- windshield wipers stop wiping in the middle of the windshield
- AC randomly hot (happened twice in a year)
- radio turns on and off randomly

I agree with carfixer007 ^^^^^^^
Too often, BCMs are condemned because many things connect to them somehow. It'* like how people condemn Microsoft Windows because everything they have wrong on the PC is all seen through Microsoft Windows.
If each of these things run properly the rest of the time then odds are pretty good that the BCM is okay. BCMs don't generally fail then fix themselves over and over. We have another active thread where the OP replaced the BCM after diagnostics by two dealerships said the BCM is the problem. He replaced the BCM and voila': same error.
This is not to say it is guaranteed that the BCM is not bad. With so many little issues that come and go, it is likely that most or all of them will be fixed in some other way that does not include replacing the BCM.
