That pipe sticks into the primary more on the TOGs the the Pacesetters.

3800 headers are still pretty ridiculous IMO for the price > what you get ratio.

Geez Andrew, sorry to see you're having some issues with the headers. :? I hope you get them fixed up! I'm surprised quite a few of those spots were as bad as they were.

i have no idea what he was planning, but for $200 he said he would grind down the seam and reweld it. Y-pipe only. I took my headers home immediately

I would think $50 at most but it looks like someone was trying to make a few (extra)quick bucks.

Machinists and welders set their prices based on how full their order book is. Busy area with alot of jobs backed up? Price goes up. Trust me, I send alot of machine work out quite regularly.

Andrew, I'd bet Pacesetter will work with you on this one. They may be fairly new in the 3800 market when compared to the long-standing competition, but every competitor in the market wants to make a good product that will sell itself.

I betcha *&* and TOG went through the same thing when they first broke into the market. These companies rely on customer feedback to improve their product performance and quality.

I was just about to say the same thing. From a welder'* standpoint, it looks like a 5-year-old welded some of those beads. The weld where the 3 pipes come together should be smoothed out in the flow area, and the one where the small pipe is coming in (EGR?), I think, should be flushed with the inner wall of the larger pipe.

EDIT: Sorry, already been pretty much covered...
