I thought the L36 was limited to 108mph?

Well it read 110MPH when I was in the car. I didn't let it go any faster than that though. But I wasn't there long anyway.

I just remembered .... Ill take a bet ive got my Bonneville faster than ANY of you (wild guess...but still)... I beleive the speed was 520mph. No joke, ive gone 520mph in my car with my NA 3800 I. That beast of an engine wasnt even straining. Now, granted it was 10,000 or so feet in the air, but i was still in my car and we were going 520mph Yeah, we were in a transport jet going from CA to Dayton. Yea, yea, yea, I can hear all the groans through the comuter....i know, it was cheating....

My Bonny (2001 SSEi) was brand new when I bought her in July of 2001 from the dealership..no aftermarket computers and I was in MPH...both my HUD and my SPEEDO read 140mph.

My Grand Am GT1 (2000) was bought brand new in March of 2000 and was also bought from a dealer..no aftermarket computer. I was up to 140mph in that as well.

BTW....I was in "D" on both vehicles but I'm not kidding...I was at 140.

You obviously haven't raced a 5 speed version at highway speeds.
They are about 1 second quicker that the automatic.
They're not quick cars off the line but once they get moving, they have very long legs.

Been to 120 mph in my ssei on a back country highway in minnesota. Have buried my 88le speedo and had the needle laying on the dash so don't know how fast it was going. Darn 85mph speedo.
