I am not exactly low mileage springs and will install to ensure there is less movement. Today blockers.. tomorrow might be another measure. I haven't decided yet.

Back with a possible new item.
The low rpm, low engine load KR that I'm experiencing "sometimes" has been annoying to say the least.
To test for real KR, I added Toluene and brought up my octane rating to about 97. Kr was still present. At the track..I mixed a lot of 104 octane in and came out with about 102....still present.
Gathered a wiring harness from the transmission area connector to the rear knock sensor. Got out my 97'* knock sensors and have had grand plans of changing the wiring harness piece and knock sensors as soon as I have time..as well as isolating each knock sensor bank to determine where the knock is being detected.
Meanwhile.. I sold a balancer to Jastek1, my understanding was all S2 balancers were the same part number. Jeff noticed a difference and brought it to our attention. The part numbers are different..and possibly slightly different themselves. Can this be a glimmer of light?????
I pulled the 01 balancer off the car and sent it to Jeff, meanwhile he is sending the 97 balancer back to me. In a couple of days we will know if the balancer is different enough to cause the KR.
Data:
96-99 Bonne
97-03 GP
97-04 Regal
All use the same balancer
00-03 Bonne'* use a different balancer part number.

I have read on clubgp that the balancer for the 00+ H-body is more refined then the w-body balancer. Some people have used it to solve flexplate cracking issues at raised RPM limits. Just thought I'd add that.

Jeff must have sent the balancer speedy postal express, it was here today.
Put it on..case learned and went out to pick up some dinner. F^#^$%^ KR still there.
Following advice from Intense, I tossed in the stock pcm and case learned. Some KR.. definately lower than expected. Then put the Stage 1 pcm back in with the stock pcm'* knock module. Not a bit of KR.
This is how flakey the KR is.. very intermittent. Aiming for more scans tomorrow.

Next steps are to run without the SC belt to ensure it'* nothing in that system, although since it'* happening under vacuum there isn't an expected solution there. Merely ruling out another item.
Double checking exhaust etc for clearance and sealing.
Replacing the wiring to the rear knock sensor from the closest connector. (There is a short piece that connects from the sensor to another connector behind the transmission).
Adding the false knock Dynamat on the knock sensors.
Each item will be done one at a time to determine the actual fix of the issue. Going at this with a vengance to get the problems solved and move on to tuning and securing a new spot in the fastest bonnie listing.

Interesting that you mention that. I don't remember if I pulled these knock sensors or not. Dan swears you "adjust" how sensitive they are by how far you put them in. They want 14lbs of torque and that'* all. I was thinking that I'll be checking that as well.
Not sure if i need to move to LT1'* just yet.. it'* a thought though.
