Yeah the pulley had been wobbling for quite a while. I suspect it was cracked and this weekend it cracked the rest of the way causing the belt to shred a little and the pulley to ride on the hub. The only reason he knew it compleatly went is because the AC quit working. After we got the pump off and found the pulley just flopping around I was amazed the rest of the belt stayed on allowing him to drive it to my place.

this morning i filled in the ponies on my mustang wheels' hubcaps, then sprayed on some plasti dip. turned out pretty well IMHO. then before work, i spent about a half hour scraping a mixture of an exploded bearing and axle grease out of one of the wheels. sometime this week im going to pick up degreaser and clean them up good. carb cleaner didnt touch what was left, and i dont want to use a wire brush on the off chance i want to peel off the plasti dip. then, im gonna plasti dip and mount them bad boys. 4 like-new tires on mustang 5 spokes for $200. not a bad deal in my book!

i picked up some simple green and some purple power at work today. the purple power says in nice big bold letters "DO NOT USE ON PAINTED WHEELS" so i guess ill save it incase the simple green dont work. worse comes to worse, ill use the purple power on the undercarriage and my motorized bicycle engine. its supposed to be silver. with all the 2 stroke oil over the 7 years ive owned it, the engine is nasty looking.

purple power is very caustic and eats paint, i dont even use it in my garage any more because it hurts to breathe. i do use it outside, about a cup per gallon of water to wash the tar and bird crap that comes off the roof of the camper. nothing else works for that.

i replaced my axle, which still didnt fix my wheel wobble issue. im tempted to just swap the front end out of the old car since i replaced it less than 20k ago.... (wheel bearing, control arms/ball joints brakes and struts.)

then i painted my mustang wheels, and mounted them. im pretty happy with how they turned out.
