Well back in the '70'* and early '80'* if you bought a vehicle it had to pass a state safety inspection. If it wasn't running or needed some work you could still transfer the title to your name but weren't allowed to drive it or put plates on it till it passed a state inspection. Then the state stopped the inspections all together and kinda left my car in limbo. You had to get ahold of the state and set up a time for the state guy to come to your house or haul it to Ames Ia. about 160 miles away from here. I just put it on the back burner for years. It runs and has a rebuilt 389 +.040 Ram Air 4 cam Auto tranny. I have new seat covers ,carpet, door panels. It needs drivers floor replaced, paint went to heck and started peeling. Have new Centerlines for it.

Dang, maybe you should move to Hitler Tax NY. At least you could roll your car through any garage and have it safety inspected, and that'* it.

so they dont have any inspection at all now? we have yearly, like mike said just safety, make sure nothing is going to fall off and it can brake, stuff like that. i asked if they did anything exhaust wise and he said thats between you and the cops. the cops in rural ny are busy enough they dont bother you unless you are doing something stupid.

Hey Justin, would you believe NY says your CAT has to be installed, but not connected, in order to pass the inspection?

So, in theory, I should be able to install a catless exhaust system on my truck, and just cut out the old cat and wire hang it next to my exhaust. LMAO!!!

dont know if i would push that but if you tune out the down stream o2 i think you could easily get away with strait piping it. i did read through the inspection pamphlet they have a couple times recently. and it doesnt say anything about having to be working. just says something like any original emissions equipment has to be in place, doesnt say anything about having to work. kind of how i got away with getting my firebird inspected previously, there was no check engine light because it wasent hooked up and i just took it too a guy that was into racing, and didnt look to close at stuff

I am sure many of us use outdoor flood lights around home garage etc.
I have been using 90watt halogens and bulbs replaced every 4 months or sooner.
With hydro going up it was time to replace the halogens with LED'* at only 18 watt=90w.

3000k indoor/ outdoor flood bulb, light output 1050, PAR 38.
Life advertised 22.5 years!! I think I may save a lot of power too!

I saw these at work a while ago. Interested to see how they perform compared to halogen bulbs. 3000k seems kinda yellowish though. How do they look?
