It'* already been a long road. Honestly I wish I COULD get my money today. But I haven't stopped yet and won't stop now.

It'* amazing to think he could have avoided this if he gave me $50, new floormats and my second ignition key over a year ago. He'* going to chit his pants when he finds out I got $1300 plus court costs over something that could have been solved a year ago for $50. This guy'* credit must be wretched from all the Public records he has. Although his business is what has usually been sued, besides him as an agent of service, so I don't know how it affects him personally...

My Brother advises me to tell you to go to his lot, copy the VIN off every car there, and file liens on ALL of them. It'* legal, it'* effective. They can't transfer the title as long as it has lien on it. Which means he won't be able to sell the cars. I think he'll become VERY eager to settle up.
Not sure of the process. Library and internet are your friends. A call to your local BAR Association help-line should get an answer within a few minutes, too, but it may cost a few dollars.

I knew about liens on his property and how it can be done, but didn't think of putting leins on his cars. Very good idea. I don't remember how soon I can put a lien on his property, but once I can I will...if I have to.

The cars on his lot may be consignment, just like yours was. In that case, you wouldn't be able to put a lien on them. But I agree that it is worth a try.

Exactly, many of his cars are consignment also so you're right on those. But for those that are not (which I would have no way of knowing) I could easily go on his website and get the VINs that way, so I didn't have to drive an hour to get them. I'm very happy things turned out the way they did....I didn't even have to bring up the fact I didn't own the car anymore. If he came to court that MAY have come up...but I honestly knew this was exactly how this would turn out.

So for those that were looking forward to this thread dying for good, I will apologize now and say it will be updated as I try to collect what is legally mine.
