Default Dealership rip-off - May 14, 2008 update - PAGE 22

Yet another update on my "progress" with the dealership that drove my car for personal use and owes me $ and parts:

Quick summary for those unaware: A dealership was selling my car for me, but I decided to take it back. I had 1200 more miles on it and damage/missing items:

broken ventshade
missing floor mats
second ignition key

I don't understand why this guy does not just fix this situation and get it over with. He "said" he would reimburse me for the ventshades. So the unanswered question remained: where are my floor mats/why are they missing? He hasn't given me an answer in 2 weeks. He said he'd let me know. I called him last Friday, and his salesman said "He'll call you back." So I immediately filed a complaint with the BBB. They should have sent it to him by now. He didn't call me back either.

I understand the BBB gives them 30 days to respond, but what happens if he doesn't? Does anyone have experience filing complaints with the BBB? Should I try to call this guy today, or just let him respond to the complaint on his own (if he even does)? The chances of getting him on the phone are very good as there is only one other guy that works there. And I'd REALLY like to give this guy a piece of my mind.

I let have a peice of my mind just for not giving back the second key. In effect he stole from you right? ASk them what they would do if you never returned an ignition key to one of their cars, I'm sure they wouldn't be too happy.

I'd wait for a day when there'* a few people there and go in to ask him what he'* going to do about it. act like you are on the verge of making a scene, with out doing anything that would give them grounds to call the police of course.

Example- one time I went with my father when he was test driving a new truck, we come back and one of the dealership guys is doing burn outs with my father'* Ranger that he was going to trade in. My father parked the truck he was test driving at the front door, walked ina nd threw the keys on the desk of the sales manager and told them that after seeing how they treated potential customer'* property he refused to do buisness with them.
They were willling to bend over backwards, to please him. He still walked out just because he didn't really like the truck all that much.

Yeah, I definitely plan on showing up without notice (again). I'd like to see his reaction. His reaction when I went to pick up the car was priceless:

He should have MAILED me my key by now. The dealership is a bit out of my way, and I have limited money for gas since I drive so much to and from work. Otherwise I would have gone down already. But I told him I'm not going down there to pick up just a key. He needs to have my key, my floor mats (or money for them) as well as the $ for the ventshades. I'm not wasting my gas on several trips to him.

I am broke until friday so I may pay him a visit Saturday unless this is somehow resolved by then - very unlikely.

Next mini meet, we should all go down and protest outside of his dealership. Its not illegal as long as its a peaceful demonstration. We could make HUGE signs to show why were there, and surround the delaership with all of our Bonnevilles. Im game Once he sees the potential to hurt him in the pocket, I think he will want to pay up just to stop the bad publicity.

Pete, i got a 1000 sheets of blank paper ready to make some flyers to hand out while were there protesting.

That would be the **** right there!!!

When I went to pick up my car, and before I actually got in it, I asked him if he ever had Bonnevilles. He said he could find some for me. But now that this has happened, I'm not going to him for my next car.

Here'* some info for you:

Bernardo Motors, LLC
2575 State Street
Hamden, CT 06517

E-mail I got this morning:

Quote:
The Better Business Bureau is in receipt of your complaint; we appreciate the opportunity to assist you with seeking a resolution.

Your complaint was received by the Bureau on January 30, 2007, and it has been registered against the following business:

Bernardo Motors
2575 State Street
Hamden, CT 06517

The Better Business Bureau reviewed your complaint, assigned it case # 84020397, and forwarded it to the business for a response. The Bureau requested that the business respond by February 14, 2007. The BBB will notify you whether or not the company replies.
I guess he only has 2 weeks to reply. And I'm assuming he goes through the BBB to resolve it, instead of me. Makes sense. Should be interesting...

Whenever we would receive a BBB complaint at my old job, they'd assign it to a Sup to contact the customer and get it fixed NOW!!! Any legitimate business should have the same policy

Good luck!!

What exactly can the BBB do if they do not resolve it?

Well it is now over a week since they were notified of the BBB complaint. And no word from the dealership. The BBB gave him until the 14th to respond. I have a feeling he is not going to, or is going to wait until the last possible second. I'm getting REALLY @#$^#%# ticked.

I am thinking about driving down this weekend. Whether he'* going to respond or not...I don't think it would hurt.

In a way it'* in the BBB'* hands right now though. Should I wait until the 14th?
