Bugsi, you're right. His lawyer most likely will tell him not to go on camera. I just assumed his lawyer was an idiot since he is. The reporter said "he may go on camera," but when he said he was talking to his lawyer first, he said he probably wouldn't go on camera. I hope he spent a good penny on his lawyer for this.

Part of me wants to sue him for personal use of my car. And I wish there were even more miles so I could really sink him in court. But I'm sure I'll be getting my keys, mats, and money for ventshades much sooner now.

And at this point, can you just call the dealer up and ask him for your keys and some floormats? Like "Hi, remember me? Do you have my key to my car? No? Look, how about you give me a key, or pay for the cost of a key, and buy me some floormats, or reimburse me for the cost of floormats?" (Have costs prepared ahead of time at a key place and for floor mats that you like.)

Sometimes it just takes stating your case clearly: Why you're there, what you want. Communicating with them via email is silly, and oviously not effective.

I was just going to update. And unfortunately there isn't much. My last post on March 6 was after the reporter contacted the owner. Since then I have not heard from anybody. :(

I went to NY for a little 'vacation' Fri. March 9th through the 12th. Thursday the 8th I called the reporter and got his voicemail. I left him a message saying I was going out of town for a few days and to call me if he needed me, and I expressed that I didn't want to miss the story if it was going to be aired while I was gone. Well since that phone call on the 8th I have not heard back from him. I have NFC what'* going on!! The guy is probably very busy, but to not get a call back is a little unprofessional IMO.

It was not aired, the reporter would have called me. But I haven't heard from him at all, and the owner of the dealership obviously still hasn't reimbursed me either.

I'll be calling the reporter tomorrow as he doesn't work weekends.

If I don't hear back from the reporter this week I'll be calling the dealer owner again. I'd love to see his response. Though I've personally called him twice before specifically asking for those three things, and he said he'd get them to me. I can't believe it'* been 2 months since this started.

Good luck. Can't believe it'* taken the owner so long. Most business want to take care of problems right away. Really hopes it hits the air so people know what an a$$ this guy is.

Yeah, the owner obviously knew I went to the news (AFTER the BBB) on March 5th. So 2 MORE WEEKS have passed and he still hasn't gotten me my things, after he'* had all this time and outside sources other than me hounding him to get it done. It seems like he'd rather drag this out even longer and defend himself on TV than just get it over with before he gets humiliated. But it was my understanding that he probably wouldn't go on camera since he was talking to his lawyer first. But I really don't know what came about since the reporter has not called me back like he said he would.

I would not be surprised if the dealer owner was blowing off the news station by not returning phone calls, or by saying he'll call back after he speaks to his lawyer, and he never did. But it would not take the news too long to realize that, and go on the air anyway. I hope to get this aired this week.

I called the reported yesterday and left a message. He finally called me back today and apologized for not keeping in touch in a while.

He said, "Did I tell you what happened when we went down there?"

I said, "No, what happened?!!"

Apparently, despite the fact he said he was going to talk to his lawyer, he actually WENT ON CAMERA. That was his first mistake! The reporter (his name is Brandon, we'll go with that from now on. CT members may know who I'm talking about ) said he finally told him he would give me a check and the floormats (keys?...NFC) in 5 DAYS from the time of the interview (which was now 2 weeks ago), "if you do not show my face on TV and air the story." Brandon said he wouldn't make guarantees.

He asked me if I had gotten my things yet, and when i told him I didn't, he said he'* going to call him again and ask him why it'* been ANOTHER 2 weeks and I still don't have my things. Brandon told me he has him on camera and "we made him look like an a$$hole. We're going to air it and get his name out there....He actually yelled at me on camera."

I can't wait to see this!!! He made a mistake going on camera to begin with. Plus it sounds like he looked like a total a$$, especially when he yelled at Brandon. He chose to go on camera and then said NOT to air it!! What a MORON!! He must have realized he made himself look like a fool and didn't want it on TV.

The only downside is that it won't air for a few weeks he said. Since the dealer said he would reimburse only IF it wasn't aired, I'm not expecting to get anything back I suppose. I WANT my keys back, but other than that, I just want this guy'* lying face on TV!
