The guy deserves but....
be very careful on how you proceed. You certainly don't want to do something that will get you in trouble. he can always try to get you for slander, libel or even harassment. You are totally in the right, and have every right to want revenge, just remember there is a right way and a wrong way to get it.

Another option you have is something I did many times in the past. Contact your local collection agancy. They are very good at turning the screws. Even a small claim will cause big problems. They can't get loans, etc with that hanging over their head. The down side is you pay 1/3 to the agancy, 1/2 if it goes to court. The last thing you want to do is march down there and face him, it WILL turn out badly for you. I had one client do this to me once. The police were called and went to his place of business to arrest him. I chose to not file charges, scaring him was enough. In that case it started out calm enough, but spireled out of control untill I walked up and he took a swing at me. I'm sure he didn't walk in thinking he was going to take a swing, but in the heat of the moment, he did. Dont go there, let the pros handle it.

Do you, over in your area, have a "watchdog"? Like someone at the local news paper or news station that follows up on reports of wrong-doing?

To me, the absolute worst thing any dealership that wants to make money can go through is have their name involved in "publicly available negative publicity" which is made even more pulic through use of newspaper, internet, and/or television reports.

Don't count on teh BBB for to much. In the end all they do is keep the dispute on file, wich isn't enough to scare most businesses. MOST people don't check on business any way. My advice is to write a letter to your local news paper or news station, and start posting up fliers telling your story. You can also call your local sheriff department and report it as a theft, and un athorised use of your vehical.THis almost always works

Like Sandrock said (I forget his name , it'll come to me eventually),

Call the local news, they might love it. They will go over and say, "Why didnt the (bleep) you remburse him? You're a (bleeping) idiot." etc etc...

Then that will be aired on the news...

That'* the best way since we're all lazy and watch too much tv.

Television is the best way to air his dirty laundry, and I think I will be looking into that. While he was surprised I filed a complaint to begin with, I don't think he'* taking it seriously. I doubt he even cares, considering he never contacted the BBB. So I'll have to hit him where it hurts most I guess.

Thanks for the words of advice.

I e-mailed three News stations last night. My first choice got back to me already. The woman thanked me for my story and "would love to discuss further."

I may get a chance to destroy him on TV all across CT!

She will be calling me tonight or tomorrow. I'll keep you updated.

If the tv thing doesn't work out...and if the BBB doesn't get you reimbursed, then you other option is Small Claims Court.
