Have you checked the throttle body gasket for a leak(spray carb cleaner at the base of the throttle body, looking for a change in idle)....

Could be an ECM problem......remember the old timing lights? Just aren't used anymore......but, I have used them in this situation....start vehicle, and aim the timing light at the spray of each injector......it should look like a fine cone of spray...if you see puddling of large drops, you either have an injector problem or ECM problem......another problem is the harness to the injectors, they can be pinched by the air cleaner over time, causing a break inside the insulation and causing intermittent contact.....

Sounds more like a fuel delivery problem, since it wouldn't start, but did when adding fuel to the throttle body(use carb cleaner, easier)......It'* delivery, pressure or mixture(vac leak at base causes a lean condition)......11-13 psi sounds about right...

HEI module could be bad....even the P/U coil could be bad(once again have seen harness problem between HEI module and P/U coil)....but screws to module shouldn't be loose.......how did cap/rotor look? Wires? Plugs?

Thanks guys. It was the ICM. Sorry for delayed reply. Since I'm not using the pickup right now I foolishly tried to buy a cheap one on Ebay for $11 plus $12 shipping. Lordco wanted $112. Waited 2 weeks and it arrived DOA. Wouldn't start at all. So I got one from Napa today for $75 and no more stalling.

Was the E-Bay one a Airtex/Wells - 5A6 AdvanTech brand?
I would have checked RockAuto first, they have AC Delco ICM'*, standard one for $49.79, and professional version for $55.99, is AC Delco the brand they sold you?
