I don't think the screen floating around in your tank can do any damage because it'* a screen. That doesn't mean you should not get it outta there, though. Also, ask for the Lancer as compensation.

if the screen is floating around in there, i think it really wouldnt be able to do much damage, its probably just caught up in the little filter in the end of the fuel pump.

If it even got through the baffling between sections of the tank. I wouldn't worry about it.

Just make sure the 2-legged gas pump knows that if anything happens to your property you will assume he had something to do with it and will come after his sorry a$$. Say it with enough authority and you will have a self-appointed watchman keeping an eye on your stuff.

I notified the police department that the filler neck originally had a anti-siphon screen, and said that the person would have had to poke it out in order to get to the gas. He said that the best they can do about that is possibly add criminal damaging onto the charges.

Apparently the kid ( found out he'* 18 ) broke down completely and spilled his guts about who he stole gas from.

I am not gonna worry too much about the screen. the tank is being dropped this spring anyways to put a new Walbro FP in, along with a new tank. I am sick of sputtering, and sometimes stalling going around corners.
