Default gas

Go to EBay and type in the word "driveway Patrol" and get one.
I installed two of these units to cover my entire front yard. Whoever in the neighborhood was putting screws under my tires gave up when they saw the units. 2 yrs now no problems.
They work great and make a pleasant doorbell chime when someone enters the property.
A local short track modified racer told me to wait outside with a baseball bat but that wasn't practical, I was getting eaten by mosquitoes. HA

Better than any of these is to go get a webcam. Set it up in your window to cover your driveway where you park your car.
Finally, there are any number of small, magnetically triggered screamer alarms. Some of them are small enough to fit inside the fuel door.
Remeber that your objective is to get PROOF, not revenge, so that you can take it to the cops.

BTW, in addition to stealing gas, the thief is also committing criminal trespass under Ohio law, which means he could get time in the local jail, and he'll have a criminal record.
Cops and courts are hitting hard on gas thefts these days as it gets more and more common and expensive.

BTW, if you want to get MEAN, you could disconnect the fuel lines from your tank, then fill it with kerosene or diesel...once he'* totally f***ed up his motor on stolen fuel, you clean the tank out and hook it back up....

Castle law & curtilage ftw!

But yeah make sure your locking gas cap is working and just prove who it is. Keep a camera handy. Get the plates on photo if you can.

Reminds me of the story about the guy stealing gas from an RV. Had the hose in the holding tank instead of the gas tank.

I had a problem with portable fuel jugs being stolen from my place. I fixed that by filing one can with salt water and about a pint of gas. Neighbours kid never did get his car running right again.

I caught Bo acting up in my absence that way. Logitech web-cams come with it.
