Do I want to see it? No.
Am I in denial? Probably.
Will it mean the end for BC? No.
But is it something we can believe considering all the false alarms? Up for debate.
All the Veterans here (going back about 2 years) know the rumors, and how many of them never came true. That'* where the distrust in the information comes from.

Never compare the Am and the G6. That'* like comparing an IS 300 to a Camry. Entirely different cars.

If the Bonneville is discontinued and replaced with the 'G8' or 'G9' or whatever name GM gives it, I'm sure there will be many similarities, though it will surely be much more refined and improved.
Well you guys are going to see what its like to have your favorite model deleted. At least you did not loose a whole division. As with many model names I wish GM would stick with Bonneville but they will not. GM is axing all model names, a little slack on Chevy yet.
Oldsmobile family - gone
Riviera - gone
LeSabre replace with Lucerne
Regury replaced with Lacrosse
PA soon to be gone, some RWD model to be added in future
Cavalier replaced by Cobalt
GrandAM replaced by G6
Seville is now just STS
Eldorado - gone, CTS is sorta a RWD replacement where Eldorado was "sorta"
Deville replaced with DTS
Bonneville will become G8 on G platform
when these new platforms are completed and in production wht ever G8 is it will no longer even be G body.
No rumor - GM is changing everything, Bonneville is not going to be the one that excapes. I sure hope Corvette does, could you imagine them changing that ?

You know one thing, if anyone hasn't noticed it yet. I was at a car show this weekend. Walked by the Pontiac booth. I seen 2 Pontiac cars that I could only see the front. I didn't even know what was what.
It ended up being a G6 and the Pursuit ( about the same size as the cav/ sunfire I think)

And to be honest ALL Pontiac cars look pretty much the same now.
It is not far off at all that you will have a compact , a mid-size, a full-size, a sport coupe, and van/suv Pontiac. Who know probably be the G 1/2( yes the g-half for the compact, cause you have to half a person to drive one and it is only half a car), the G-6( mid-size), the G-8( full size), the G-4 ( sport coupe), the G-12 ( suv/van).
So names are not that important anymore it seems. Maybe GM is tired of names, maybe not, it could be the new trend, and maybe not. I am sure that with whatever they come up with no one will be happy unless it has the Bonneville name on it. So I suggest to everyone to go out and buy the badges from what ever name of car you like and stick it on whatever you buy cause that will be the only way you will know it is your car.
Anyone see the new Chevy cobalt commercial?? It may just play up in Canada, well it is a bunch of people coming out from grocery shopping and ALL the cars look the same and no-one knows which car is their'*, then there is one car that is different which is the cobalt. That reminds me of the car show, all the damn Pontiacs look the same, kinda like the pot calling the kettle black.
anyhow, that is it for now., LOL.
