2000+ Bonnevilles much better than 92-99?

It obviously can be agreed that every redesign has it'* problems, 92-95 and 00-01 as far as I know had paint issues 92'* and 3'* I can say had rusting issues with the rear quarter panel passenger side, 00-01 had the hood thing going on,
the only TRUE way to compair the if you had them fresh out the factory or very well maintained, (as far as comparing an 87-92 ish to an 00+)
I do also recalling making a sharp turn in the previous gens caused the car to stall,
Slightly off topic, why did they stop making aluminum intakes? was it for performance reasons? if not they should have stuck with aluminum it hasn't failed yet (crosses fingers at 219,000 )

I'm not crazy about the look of the 00+ models. I fell in love with the 92-99 look years before I ever got a Bonneville. . One of my neighbors had one and my wife and I always admired it. When my old car died and it was time to get a new car, I simply said to her "Why don't we look at one of those Bonnevilles we like so much?" -She already drove a Grand Prix, and I had already owned two Pontiacs before that, including a 1978 Bonneville coupe.
When I test drove my 97, the first thing I did was sit down in the back seat, much to the surprise of the dealer saleslady. I explained to her that I'd be carting around my parents and my in-laws on trips when they'd come to visit, and I wanted to check the headroom and legroom.
Last year I saw a 2000 Bonneville next to a current 4-door Grand Prix at my dealership, and they were virtually the same height, length, and width. Same size tires, same engines, similar dual exhaust. . .I understood a bit better why they stopped making the Bonneville, there wasn't much difference from the Grand Prix.
My wife now owns a 2001 Grand Prix GT, and I have to say one of the things I don't like about either the 00+ Bonnevilles or the current Grand Prix is the look of the car from the rear. They just look weird. The taillights are kind of angled and square or something, the angles of the trunk lids rake inwards like a V. I just don't like that look at all. The 2001 Grand Prix GT and my 97 Bonneville have similar curving shape lines, and I really think they're two of the hottest looking cars Pontiac made. If I had to replace my 97 Bonneville, I'm not sure I'd get a 00+ model, and I might have to seriously consider a different model car altogether since low mileage Pre-00 Bonnies are going to be ever-harder to find.
