Hey guy'*, Since I have time off, I went back to the mechanic and told him about the suspicion of the magnet since I found no damage to the wires. He had doubt.. he wanted to go with the pcm first before taking apart my engine for a magnet that was still there. he ordered a pcm computer so I can drive around with it for the weekend to see if the error code comes back. If the ses error code appears then we will know its not the pcm and we would put mine back so I won't have the expense of a new computer. The only expense on me would be reprogramming it..and he knew someone who would do it for the range of about 60 dollars.. so that would not be a bad loss if it turns out "not" to be the pcm. However, when I went to this person he wanted to charge 150 dollars!.The Pontiac dealer charges less but, they will not reprogram a aftermarket pcm.. So now I have to find someone who would reprogram the pcm for a reasonable price.

Rod...

Glad you got it fixed up. It'* quite odd to see one of the newer pcm'* go bad. There is a lot of diagnostics in the manuals before swapping a pcm.

Goes to show us..that even the more stable pcms can and do go bad.

Thanks for sharing and keep us updated if anything changes.

Thanks Bill,
Yeah, if only the PCM had some kind of warning light on it.. to know there is something wrong in computer itself, that way the steps and cost can be avoided.
No easy button here.. lol.

Hey, great news. Glad that it is fixed and you don't have to worry about that code staring at you.
