I am not sure it was in the car when I bought it in July, but it looks newer. Never can tell by looks I guess, but the charge was 12 and 11 when turning the key to on.

most of the batteries have dates punched out.

and the dash gauges are far from accurate. really need to measure the voltage running and not running at the battery. if it will start take it to the parts store and they can load test the battery which is the most accurate way to test its condition.

I asked what the voltage was, when you turn the key to the crank position?

when I turn the ignition on the instrument lights on the dash just rapidly flash. I have only had the car a couple months. It started when I was going 70 on the highway about a month ago. It just shut off and the dash lights where flashing, luckily it started back up before I could get pulled over and stopped. Almost crashed. After that it shut off a couple times but I would leave it alone a while and it would start again and be fine for a while. Now this time I stopped at the store came back out and this time will not start at all. I had to get it towed home. It has been since yesterday and have tried everything and will not start. The lights on the dash flash. I have tried cleaning and checking battery connection, The starter has no power, I tried to do 30 min key reset. Not sure what to do next and I am hoping someone on here has some good idea'*. Thanks for any help.

check voltage coming from ignition switch sounds like voltage isn't @ 12 volts more like 8 low voltage will cause this as well as the pcm (ecm)
