Default 01 Park Avenue replacement CV axles

Replaced both original CV axles in April 2018 with brand C units. Recently, the left side has developed the dreaded popping sound when making a left turn.

Also, after the car has been parked overnight, there is a loud clunk from the front right when I start to back up.

Are both CV axles going bad or is the right side another problem?

Are replacement AC Delco axles worth the extra cost ($200 vs $40)? I read somewhere that a lot of the running gear (including Delco) is manufactured in * Korea.

I'd say you have one or two bad CV joints.

It'* not a matter of ACDelco good everyone else bad, just a matter of getting a manufacturer with decent reputation and support.

I put a Cardone CV axle on one of mine like 50,000 miles ago and have had no issues.

Curious: What is "brand C" ?

Brand C is Cardone.

I replaced both hubs and CV axles at the same time and the hubs didn't even make it two years The hubs were some off-brand (WJB) that I got from Rock Auto.
Considering that the original hubs and CV axles lasted 17 years, I'm inclined to spring for the AC Delco axles unless they're manufactured overseas

I don't blame you . . . but at the same time some ACDelco isn't what it used to be. My LeSabre has about 100,000 miles on a pair of Napa front hubs with no issue, and those were a good deal less-expensive than ACDelco. There are a lot of Timken out there, and I've used a bunch of those without issue. Rock Auto shows Timken for about $80.00 and ACDelco for $110.00 . Personally, I wouldn't think twice about Timken. They're good and have been around doing bearings forever.

When I replaced the off brand hubs earlier this year, I bought Moog. It doesn't appear that Moog makes CV axles, so I need to figure out a good replacement brand for those. Cardone has a limited lifetime warranty on their CV axles, but when the dust settles that probably won't amount to much. I'm not inclined to buy another set of those.
