My Park Avenues engine appeared to be tilted while I was checking fluids today. I looked under the car and found that something was shinier and cleaner than everything else under there (pic included). This must be part of the motor mount I'm assuming. Is this something I can fix or is the car mechanic bound. Please help...

Busted mount?

Definitely not right...

I feel like that is more than a broken transmission mount. I have never seen the drivetrain look like that. The front transmission mount of that era incorperated a shock/strut that was supposed to dampen the shock loads. I would also check the torque axis mount on the passenger side just to make sure it is seated correctly and locked together correctly.

That looks like the transmission mount on the driver'* side.......

I've had the front mount go bad, but that lean on drivers side is something else.

I think the broken thing is causing the engine/transaxle to shift left and down as in the picture, and the shiny part of the little hydraulic damper is a symptom of it, but not the cause.

I suspect a motor mount on the driver'* side of the engine/transaxle assembly is failed.

Good catch BossHog39! I saw the damper and moved on without looking close.

Sorry it took so long to get back, but thanks to everyone who chimed in. Good spot on the motor mount break. Can I drive this a couple miles to the mechanic? Any estimates on cost of replacing both mounts?

If you had been driving it up to the point that you were checking fluids etc. and it drove fine, then odds are you had been driving it for a while this way without realizing. Based on that, it miiiiight be fine . . . ?
