Default New Front Motor Mount

Replaced our big oil filled front mount with a fabricated mount from Sammy'* Hot Rod Garage in Sacramento, CA. Sam Foster (916) 214-9306 open Friday thru Sunday.
When we had oil under the car we found that the front motor mount was broken and leaking oil. The torque of the motor was moving the engine back at least four inches. With the new mount the movement is about half an inch. We have 1,000 miles on the new mount and you can feel the difference, excelleration is better, road feel is better, and it does not transmit vibration to the car because it still has rubber between the mount and the frame. We really notice the difference because when you step on the gas the car goes forward immediately instead of the motor torquing back before the car moves forward. This was for a 2000 SSEI, if the 2001 through the 2003 have the same donut even if they are a different height, Sam can build you one to. Cost is $120.00. You can not miss the dounut on the 2000 it is 4 inches in diameter and 3 1/2 inches tall, and soft, soft, soft. To test, put your car in park, open the hood, rock your car backwards by hand and look at how far your engine rocks back towards the fire wall.
Can't believe how it changed the feel of the car and the excelleration.

That funny!!!! I was just noticing tonight how my engine jumps when I change from Park, Rev, Or Drive. Is it easy to install?

Ours is an SSEI, and it was very easy to install. Our old one was a large oil filled donut that bolted to the front cross member and to a mount bracket off the transaxel. Half hour job. Make sure you have the same large front mount because it takes all the torque of the engine. When you step on the gas that front motor mount trys to tear itself in half.
