Ditto! I have been asking for these after market mods/chips since we started this thread when Scott from Intense posted the K&N air filter numbers! I have been in touch with DP with absolutely nothing to gain and even more empty promises! I have an 04 GXP and intend on putting a turbo charger on it once the computer is cracked. Someone please help!!

DP? As in Domestic Performance? I hope that'* not what you meant. If it is, just go ahead and hand him your wallet and walk away. He'* burned far too many people with his empty promises that were pre-paid.

He'* also so full of BS you wouldn't believe it. He doesn't even know how to SPELL Northstar, much less know what to do with one.

I think we know to stay away from DP, but what about Scott from Intense, has anyone heard anything from him? He bought a GXP and so did one of his employees, he should have something for us faithful Bonneville fans by now!?!?!

Scott did. Not sure about the other employee. You'll find Scott'* GXP listed in our For Sale section here:

Default NITROUS>>>>>ITS A GAS

wondering if youre sure about air filter yet,....do you know of any cold air kits that will fit,
just bought a nitrous setup for my gxp and it'* gonna have to breath alot better than stock to max benefits. another question won't turning of t/c do same as pullin off wss
harness to wheels. pcms can get clogged with error codes,no?

if you have a mailing list I would love to be on it and if you come up with pcm goodies I'll be the first at your door with money in hand.. thanx- Diz

Is NOS doable without the computer being cracked? Everyone one I have spoken to has told me that. If it is doable, where can one get the kit that fits the GXP best? I would rather have power at hand all the time, but NOS is worth looking into if it will work.

NOS will work and Holley says so, and they state no additional mods needed , And they have a kit specific for LD8 N*, (Dont listen to anyone without getting facts there is so much speculative BULLSH*T out there) It is used all the time out west where the sand buggies run. Alot of them N*'* Its a fad with them . still waitng for my kit. Ya. http://www.holley.com/categories.asp?division=NOS
got mine fer $569

I got the idea to nitrous because alot of sand buggies out west use it on their N* engines(alot of sand buggie builders use the N* One of the Major N* builders out there Cadillac Hot Rod Fabricators leaves the stock bottom end alone till they reach 400Hp...so keep that in mind....they build them from 360Hp up to 800Hp with whipple supercharger. I'm putting single jet on at first...75Hp and then 100...Thats as far as I'll go...considering the 4ooHp stated by CHRF for OEM bottom end durability. They have some info on N*'* and some eye candy on site but dont bother trying to contact them they work closely with gm/caddy div and are tight lipped AND wont sell parts to gm car owners, only custom sand buggy and showcar Manufactures. Period . But a few good facts, pics, info.

NOS is fine with stock every thing to 100Hp....and dont expect any chip work or mods to come out yet they just arent available ....and I've tried everywhere, but chin up
The 275Hp LD8 is alive and well over in the Buick division which is useing in the Lucerne , which by the way IS the new Bonniville. HEY which of ya Bonnie gear heads thru that brick...It'* true oo it'* true.

But seriously, Pontiac lost their *** on Bonnie in '04 and '05 and dropped the line for 1 year and put the cost of devoloping mid luxury full size sedan in the more profitable Buick divisions hands and IT will be back in '07 as the Pontiac G8 with the N* 275hp.
Seems like everyone is going to the jap/euro trend for letter number combo'*.

Maybe they will make a gxp version and bring back the Bonnie name (that ones wishful speculation) the rest I've read on net from reliable sources. ( But CHECK out anything ya hear ,even I make mistakes and 5 of them only call when they want money)(yuck yuck)What they have done to the Bonnie over the years. It left the markey once and came back as the butt ugly Parisiene and even made it a compact car at one time.

When I get NOS kit on and get a ton of pics taken I'll do a post on it and some pros and cons. AND there are some things to consider...like in an urban setting if you back off the throttle before the injection clears the exhaust ports , you could blow the intake right thru the hood and gas vapor/nitrous is almost as volatile and explosive as nitromethane.....Dont be scared (hehehe) and let the NOS force be with you

Because untill the 275Hp is used in some more models...and it is and will be THERE ARE NO mods for it and it'* been Talked to Death for 2 and a half years. I guess there * a cold air kit from K&N but its a waste of your time and money. The OEM airbox is used for much bigger applications than the 275 Hp and any Hp claims in my view BS. I f you were boosting ya maybe some Hp. But NOS doesnt need more air it supplys it'* own when the tempeture inside the cylinder exeeds 560 degrees on it'* way to firing the nitrous molecules split and gives you much higher cylinder compression and twice the Ox2 found in air. And the nitrogen passes as such with the exhaust. Holley states this gas has a cushioning effect on exhaust valves. Still looking for someone to bore throttle body and trying to figure out if heads can accept the STS OEM Exhaust vaves. I feel thats how they detuned the engine from 300 HP( my view not fact) Speaking of facts there is some info here and other forums and in each I've found errors so check anything you read out and dont do anything "cause someone said so and that surely even mean me ! Call Holley/NOS or email them and they will hook ya up with a distibuter near you.

I would think in today'* market, a NOS kit would be safe to use, but could you elaborate on the intake exploding? Wouldn't the kit have safety measures built in? I will consider NOS if it is safe. Mine is a daily driver and my only source of transportation and I don't want to tear it up. I plan on keeping it for awhile. I am a die hard Bonny fan and haven't seen many in my area which is perfect because I want something that not everyone else has, i.e. the hemi'*. But I want it to be as bad as I can make it so it lives up to its name - BON EVIL!! Please keep us posted on what you find out on the use of NOS and of any other modifications you hear of. I will be second in line behind you with my money in hand also!! As long as it has nothing to do with DP!! Anyone else have any info or mods to share? Also, has anyone used the GM transmission tuner for the 4t80e, part number GMS420106. I was wondering what settings to use?

NOS is basically safe,.... sort off

Dont use a boost higher than bottom end can take>stated at 400 hp byCHRFab.

It is a gas that releases more oxygen than air itself has that doesnt break down untill its in the cylinder creating a) better combustion and b)raising cylinder pressures as high or higher than supercharging (depending on Hp rating of the jet.)

It has inherent dangers in using on the street such as,
You must release the nitrous button quickly just before letting up on accelarator pedal and even then throttle down gradually for a second or two to make sure any build up of nitrous/gasvapor buildup vents through exhast ports. Or a fire or small combustion can occur(super not good with a polymer intake.
If you hit the rpm limiter with the nitrous trigger down, I feel, you could have an intake explosion worthy of blowing the hood off.
Also you dont want to hit nitrous button untill you have some torque on engine and tranny, with and instant 75-100Hp surge if drivetrain parts arent under a load you could have a "rubber band snap" effect and hurt something anywhere in the drive train.

Since some people are taking interest and the kit.....Should be here anytime....called shop and they called NOS and was told it shipped yesterday, I4 days after I was told 7-10 days I better get up a post in forced induction before I get the wrath of Wren.

So all I can say is safe is relative term depending on your judgement and cabilities.
Nitrous can be dangerous especially in an urban setting. But you use it only where you feel comfortable doing so.
