Kenwood 6x9's and HU - Page 2 - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

I wouldnt go with the Kenwood 6x9'*. The only thing good about Kenwood is their headunits, and their amps aint to bad.

kenwood amps have a serious design flaw tho, the heatsink on them isnt good enough and they produce a TON of heat (speaking from experiance)

Thats I said they aint to bad. The only problem I had was with the remote turn on. Yes they produced heat but never cut out on me once. Definently gonna stick with Phoenix Gold 7 channel next.

as far as those plasma glow leds go, they work fine. my only problem is mounting options on the car. if u really want them to look right, u have to kinda create ur own mounting surface. also does anyone know how to mount the rear ones to where the bumper doesnt block the light

This is getting off topic a lot. Pete, i'd say get the kenwood receiever if you like it, but you can find MP3 or WMA decks for lower then that. Also you can get better sound out of other speakers for that money. Try boston acoustics, JBL. Rockford are good for the money too.
