Kenwood Upgrades

Has anyone ever used the Kenwood HUD?
If so, have you tried the Kenwood compass and thermometer?

I've read about them and a friend had them. He liked them. But, you can also get a compass/thermometer in a new rearview mirror and not have anything sitting on your dash. Unfortunately the compass/temp rearview mirrors run about $200.....but you get a dimming mirror out of it too.
