New Kenwood HU and repainted surround (pix) - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Default New Kenwood HU and repainted surround (pix)

Well, after doing my ECC mod, I thought about going most, if not all, black or dark color in the center of the dash. So I looked all over for a black HU with MP3 capabilities, and found one on Ebay...only caveat is that it was originally meant for a Hyundai, but that is livable...

The grey that I used to cover the plastic mount was some scrap 3M Safety/Traction tape that our flight simulators use on the topend, and I think it looks rather good!

And here I mocked it up to the textured dash I done up...

No installed pics until Wednesday...car still sitting at Don'* house awaiting a new WP gasket a steering column swap, and a trans flush before I can drive it to Orlando.

So I take pieces of the car with me so I can still work on it w/o it being here
