1993 Factory stereo
Sorry, along, I got off subject.
If you have the U85 amplified speaker system, there is a bass slider control that controls a subwoofer amplifier under the radio. In this case there should be four wires going to two dual-coil speakers in the back.
Along: Check your 92 and I bet you'll find four wires to each speaker.
But, I am not completely familiar with the BOSE dynamic equalization package and how it works. That is what you have in the 1997. I'm not sure if it has a separate amplifier. Apparently there are no subwoofers in the back because you have one set of wires to the speaker.

Yep. I dont have the gain control on the Bose system. Just a pretty BOSE sticker
The amp under the drivers seat sounds non standard to me. The home for the bose and standard 4 channel amps is bolted under the center of the dash, behind the radio. Its easy to change.
Is there any other circuitry besides the Radio, the 4 channel amp and the speakers ? Maybe a wire is shorted out or something ? I wonder if there is some other component there instead of the old 'gain' control ?

I thought it was odd to see the amp bolted to the floor... I could be wrong... It was almost square and about 6"x7" maybe a little smaller, it was bose whatever it was...
I'm surprised they'd have room to stuff that under the driver'* seat in the first place, what with all the power-seat stuff under there.
