Okay guys. I just solved this puppy. Think of this from GM'* perspetive. There'* three different options that require defroster grill changes; HUD, TS and ECC. Cars with HUD are probably going to have one of the other two, Some cars are going to be base model and have none, Some cars w/o HUD w/TS or ECC. The cost of producing defroster grills to match each option combination is more than making sensor "blanks".

Gimme your pay pal adress and I'll send ya the 2 cents....... lol That does make sense.....seeing how all manufactures are getting REALLY cost effective on their cars....Possibly coulc have just been for interchangability too.

The defroster grills definatly interchange I've got one from a 94SSE w/ HUD, TS, ECC in my HUD transplant 93SE...

Main thing I love about GM.......Just about anything can interchange with anything.....Like the Chevy trucks.....The hole truck can interchange within 88-99......They make everything in the same style long enopugh and make enough....GM parts are just extremly common that it'* incredibly easy to find parts.

Lakeville, your compass sensor is underneath the rear deck in the trunk, between the speakers. A few inches from the trunk light.
