Ya I thought about that too. If it turns out to be that can I buy a replacement at the dealership or should I just make my own out of a mesh screen?

Well it wasnt really the cable itself but the connection at the terminals. I tightened it to a certain point and it started. Not sure what to do now but I think I want to get a new battery (optima) and some new cables. I got a new cable this morning and it has a black wire connected to it and on my car the one that has a black cable attached is attached to something else so am I supposed to just connect it the same way? Seems like quite a job but I feel bad about something else. Coolant is leaking out of where my throttle body where it connects to the intake and also it seems like its leaking out of the lower intake manifold where it connects to the block. Most likely a gasket right?

You're looking at replacing a set of gaskets. The parts are like $40. Try not to drive the car, coolant may find it'* way into the intake and dirty everything...

Should I take this to the dealership or can a regular shop handle this?

Any competent shop should be able to handle it. Lower Intake Gasket Set and Throttle Body Gasket are leaking.
