Nice colour combination with the valve cover bolt seals front and rear. :P

The only thing that has me worried is the amount of volume that the new intercooler displaces inside the LIM. Flow restriction and volumetric issues. :?
Can't see the rear when everything is in.

Paul, I already calculated the restriction (posted in the P&B topic) the core flows nearly TRIPLE the amount of the outlet of the SC. It'* better now than it was stock. Remember, this core isn't as long as the typical S2 intercooler core, but it'* MUCH wider and a less-restrictive design to begin with. I calculated restriction based on the 1/2" serpentine tubing being a 100% restriction to flow as well, which we both know is not true.

Point being, even without the water flowing, this top end will be more efficient than it was a week ago.

Recess in the neck? Weight reduction.

Motor purrs nice and quiet. No lifter clatter at all. Silent perfect idle on first crank, killer oil pressure with the INTENSE kit.

Warming up under the strict guidance of a Pdad.

Kim graduates this year. 18 on March 6. Katie turned 13 on September 10th.

Test drive went great. Intercooler core is zero restriction, but the PCM and another gizmo have a bit of learning to do.

Fires on the first crank every time, and runs smooth. This motor also runs MUCH cooler than the original. Probably be able to go back to the 180 thermostat during winter.

Off to find some food. Haven't eaten since last night.

You eat food? I thought you drank for nourishment.
Good to see your little project is working well.
When are you going to make one up for the Series 2? :P

Toughter on the S2, simply because the manifold isn't this wide. Big difference.

Now that the meet is over, followup pics will go back to my S1 Intercooler topic, but I have a couple final vids to post sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, this is the worst damage Pdad and i suffered over the last week. I don't recall much worse on anyone else during the actual motor swap either:

Not bad work at all. Motor out on Saturday. Most of it back in on Sunday. Back on the street by Friday. And that'* after working this week also. Well done everyone, and many thanks for the help again!
